1344258 Extensible scaffolding feet MILLS SCAFFOLD CO Ltd 17 June 1971 [31 March 1970] 15118/70 Heading E1S Vertically extensible scaffolding comprising upper and lower telescopically slidable upright elements 50, 35 is provided with foot assemblies 10 to effect the extension and to facilitate travel of the scaffolding, each assembly 10 comprising an outer vertical member 12 carrying brackets for mounting on the lower scaffold element 35, an inner member 21 telescopically slidable within the outer member 12 and having a projecting lower end carrying a wheel 23, a hydraulic jack 24 also slidable within the outer member 12, and a plurality of releasable pin-and-hole connection means for selectively connecting the lower end of the jack to the upper end of the member 21 or to an intermediate point of the member 12, the upper end of the jack to the upper end of the member 12 or to a lug 51 on the upper scaffold element 50, and the members 12 and 21 to one another. As shown, the scaffolding is lifted from the ground and supported on wheels 23 for travelling; the jack 24 is connected to the upper ends of both members 12 and 21, and is then retracted to lower the scaffolding to the ground and lift the wheel 23; the member 21 is then pinned to the member 12, and the upper end of the jack is disconnected from the member 12 and connected to the lug 51, so that the jack may be extended to extend the scaffolding; disconnection of the lower end of the jack from the member 21 and connection to a higher point on the member 12 allows further extension of the scaffolding.
