Abstract

1343845 Hinge mounting device J BLUM 19 April 1971 [13 April 1970] 26132/71 Heading E2F [Also in Division F2] A mounting device for securing hinge parts 8, 9 to the opposed faces of a furniture panel 10 comprises two plates 2, 3 having bores engaged over - the opposite ends of a bolt 1 received in a through-bore in the panel 10, the bolt having threaded axial holes at each end and having a collar or shoulder 4 for engagement with either the furniture panel 10 or the outer face of a plate 2, 3, Fig. 7 (not shown) and also being secured against rotation in at east one of the plates 2, 3, which plate is also secured against rotation to the panel 10. The shoulders 4 may be shaped as in Fig. 4 or may be circular and may engage in corresponding recesses 6 in one of the plates; if the shoulder is circular, the ends of the bolt 1 are non-circular and are received in complementably shaped bores in the plates 2, 3. The plates may be secured against rotation by pins 7 engaging a second bore in the furniture panel. The bolt may have a central slot 15. The hinge parts 8, 9 are secured to the bolt 1 by screws 11, 12 and have adjusting screws 13, 14.
