Abstract

1342482 Rolling IMPERIAL METAL INDUSTRIES (KYNOCH) Ltd 19 April 1971 [17 Feb 1970] 17613/73 Divided out of 1342481 Heading B3M A pendulum rolling mill as described in Specification 1,342,481 is characterized by a subassembly detachably mounted on a frame 12, the sub-assembly including a pendulum arm, e.g. 1, a driving linkage, e.g. connecting rod 7, for oscillating the pendulum arm; a drive member, e.g. crank-shaft 9, carried in a housing 11 detachably mounted on the frame 12, and a beam, e.g. 3, to which the arm is secured, the beam being pivotally mounted at one end 14 to the housing 11 and at the other end being detachably connected to a screw down load carrying device 17, access being provided to enable the sub-assembly to be removed from the mill. In the embodiment shown there are two sub-assemblies, one on each side of pass line A-A, the drive mechanism of each sub-assembly being driven separately from a common drive via a disconnectible coupling.
