Abstract
1341074 Fusible cut-outs McGRAWEDISON CO 10 Aug 1971 [30 Nov 1970] 37450/71 Heading H2G A fusible wire element 32 is wound on a support 10, of cruciform cross-section, between terminals 12, 14 with a closer pitch in the region B of the "M-spot" 36 of material which melts and alloys with the resistance wire above a certain temperature to form an alloy which fuses below the fusion temperature of the wire 32 per se. An indicator wire 34 may be wound parallel with the fusible wire 32 except in the region B of the M- spot where it extends axially between the winding 32 and the support 10 in a gap between two arms of the support. A conventional indicator mechanism may be provided in the area of the terminal 12. The element may be placed in an insulating tubular housing with the spaces filled with quartz-sand.
