Abstract

The conductor has a cavity in which the pyrotechnic composition is enclosed. Pref. the conductor is of sheet metal formed into a hallow section in its central zone or is a metal tube closed at each end. The circuit breaker or fuse has a more rapid action when the maximum potential across it is exceeded and has better rupture characteristics and greater reliability than the known pyrotechnic fuses.
