Abstract
1340506 Induction furnaces AJAX MAGNETHERMIC CORP 20 Jan 1971 [28 Jan 1970] 52747/70 Heading H5H A twin coil, submerged resistor induction furnace, of the type described in Specification 981,218, is given improved temperature patterns and increased flow velocity in its melting channels 4, 5, 6 and 7 by axial indexing of the current carrying portion of the throat 11 adjacent its intersection with the central melting channel 5, such that the width A is approximately twice the axial widths B, C, of the central and bottom channels 5, 7. Channel 5 may intersect the throat 11 with surfaces 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d, Figs. 4-6 (not shown), of tapered and curved type, or the widened throat and channels may be of circular form, Fig. 8 (not shown).
