Abstract

1,150,329. Cement. MESSER GRIESHEIM G.m.b.H. 2 June, 1967 [2 June, 1966], No. 25630/67. Heading C1H. [Also in Division F4] In the manufacture of cement, or production of sintered dolomite, a current of oxygen from bent tube 9 is blown on to the discharging material which has been heat-treated in a rotary kiln 1 to be deflected back up against the burner flame 8. This preheats the oxygen, and simultaneously cools the discharging material, the angle of the oxygen impingement being adjustable to allow variation of the flame length 8.
