Abstract
1366824 Oxygen lances MESSER GRIESHEIM GmbH 10 April 1972 [10 April 1971] 16459/72 Heading F4B A self-cooling oxygen lance comprises an inner tube 1 and an outer tube 2 having a narrow gap between forming a passage for the oxygen. The outer tube may be of ceramic and both tubes are cooled by the oxygen passing through the gap. A spiral element 3 in the gap increases the speed of the oxygen travelling through the lance. The pitch of element 3 may vary over the length of the lance.
