Abstract

1293834 Lances DEMAG AG 1 Dec 1970 [4 Dec 1969] 56978/70 Heading F4B A lance for delivery of oxygen and/or lime comprises a shaft having a material delivery conduit 30 and an outer jacket 1 and a copper head 4 having a skirt portion 14 which is welded, hard soldered or brazed to the jacket 1 and a shaft portion 13 which is longer and of greater thickness than the skirt portion 14 and is a sliding fit in or on the conduit 30 to compensate for thermal expansion of jacket 1 three nozzles 32 extending through the head 4. The end of the conduit 30 is formed by a replaceable duct portion 10. The shaft portion 13 is grooved to receive sealing rings 12.
