Abstract

1415002 Flexible heating elements COOPERHEAT 8 Aug 1973 [9 Aug 1972] 37163/72 Heading H5H A flexible heating element, Fig. 13, comprises a heating wire 24 which meanders through a matrix of beads of four types 1, 8, 14, 20, Figs. 3, 6, 9, 12 respectively, all having passages for the wire traversing projections and/or receiver for engaging adjacent beads, the beads in end rows 8, 14, having grooves linking through passages so that the heating wire is not exposed. The beads may be of sintered alumina or steatite. The cold ends could be brought out through beads of the first type, 1, Fig. 3.
