Abstract

1340394 Boring earth; ground anchors OFFSHORE CO 11 Oct 1971 47205/71 Headings E1B and E1F An under-water anchor is set by drilling the water-bed 26 with a drill string including a tubular anchor section 10 having a bit 12 at the lower end and a drill pipe S releasably connected at the upper end, pumping cement through the string, and releasing the pipe leaving the section set in cement in the bed. A fitting 30 is rotatable about the section between a ring 44 and a stop plate 14 welded to the section. A further fitting 32 carrying a cable 28 is releasably fixed to the fitting 30 by pins 46 and fasteners 48.
