Abstract

1,129,867. Ground anchors; piling boring earth &c. ATLAS COPCO A.B. 18 Jan., 1967 [4 Feb., 1966], No. 2594/67. Headings E1B, E1F and E1H. A ground anchor or a pile is formed by driving into the ground, employing a conventional drill wagon, an outer casing comprising coupled tubular elements 38, and an inner rod, comprising coupled solid or hollow elements 18, which supports an anchor 35 with, e.g. tungsten carbide inserts 36. After drilling, the casing, which may be left in situ, or retracted, is filled with, e.g. grout. The casing of Fig. 4 carries a flanged bush 50, and flushing fluid is passed through the shank adaptor 23 and bores 32 in elements 18, optionally through a connection 29 and a swivel bush 30, and also through a bore 51 in bush 50. When the hole is drilled, the bush 50 and a flanged sleeve 43 are replaced by a special head 72 (Fig. 7, not shown), having a threaded sleeve, and through which the grout is pumped via a valve 53 from pump 68 (Fig. 2). Before pumping, the top element 18 is replaced by a hollow or solid element of slightly greater length, the drill advanced, and grouting takes place, the casing being retracted by chain 58. In the embodiment of Fig. 6a, the flushing head 45 is secured to the casing, and after drilling, the shank adaptor 23 is removed and the bore 26 blocked off before grout is injected via the connection 48, and the swivel bush 47.
