Abstract

1339174 Infra-red lamps HARTMANN & BRAUN AG 15 Jan 1971 [23 May 1970] 2037/71 Heading H1F An infra-red lamp comprises a reflector body 3, the reflective surface 11 of which is preferably gold-plated, and a heating coil 2 which is located at the focus of the reflector and consists of a thin metal casing containing an electrically insulated resistance wire through which an electric current can be passed. The coil is soldered without flux to a support flange 1 which is secured by electron beam welding to the body 3, and an infra-red-transmitting window 5 made of calcium fluoride is metallized at its edges, preferably with platinum, and soldered to a holder 4 which in turn is secured to the body 3 by electron beam welding. The lamp is exhausted through a tube 16 and may be filled with inert gas.
