1338203 Milling machines SCHAUBLIN SA 20 Jan 1972 2779/72 Headings B3K and B3B A milling machine comprises a tool head 6 which is adapted to be swivelled about a horizontal axis from the Fig. 1 to the Fig. 2 position, and a tool spindle 8 located in the head by a sleeve or quill 9, the spindle being driven by an electric motor 7 through gearing; the axes of the spindle motor and gear shafts being in parallel relationship. Tool head 6 is mounted on a support 3 which may be fixed, or may slide on a column 2. Quill 9 is actuated by a handle 10 connected to a pinion 11b, the latter meshing with a rack 9a on the quill. The gear drive may include change gears. Casing 6b of the tool head comprises a dovetail guide, into which is optionally inserted a sealing cover 22, or an overarm 23.
