1336919 Alloy cast iron composition GOETZEWERKE FRIEDRICH GOETZE A G 26 Oct 1971 [30 Oct 1970] 49740/71 Heading C7A A valve-seat ring for internal combustion engines consists of a grey cast iron having the composition in weight per cent: - 3À0 to 3À8% carbon 1À8 to 3À0% silicon 0À4 to 1À8% manganese up to 1À0% phosphorus 1À0 to 2À0% chromium 1À0 to 2À0% molybdenum to which has been added 0À3 to 1À5% tungsten. The alloy may additionally contain 0À6 to 1À2% nickel, 0À6 to 1À2% copper, 0À1 to 0À4% titanium, 0À1 to 0À3% tin and/or 0À1 to 0À6% vanadium. This composition provides a valve-seat ring having improved wear resistance with leadfree fuels.
