Abstract
1335955 Measuring pressure electrically INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 29 June 1972 [5 July 1971] 30408/72 Heading G1N [Also in Division H1] A pressure sensor comprises a body of ferroelectric material 1 whose dielectric constant changes with applied pressure, the temperature of the body being temperature stabilized by applying to a ferro-electric element thermally coupled to the body an alternating voltage. As shown the element is integral with the body 1, e.g. of triglycine sulphate or antimony sulphur iodide, the capacitance being measured between an electrode 2 and an electrode 4, and the alternating potential 5 being applied between an electrode 3 and the electrode 4. A capacitance bridge may be connected to terminals 7, 8. The body 1 may be arranged in an evacuated envelope.
