1396871 Measuring moisture content electrically MOLECULAR CONTROLS Ltd 22 Aug 1972 [24 May 1971] 16644/71 Heading G1N The moisture content of a sample quantity of fluent material is determined by circulating gas in a closed circuit 1 through a sealed jar containing the test material and measuring the moisture content of the gas, with a capacitor whose dielectric is hygroscopic, e.g. an aluminium strip with a surface layer of aluminium oxide partly overlaid with a second metal. The sample is contained in jar 4, Fig. 1, connected by tubes 16, 18 to a pump controlled by switch 27, all located in a temperature controlled section 2 of a box 1. The apparatus may include two jars, selected by a switch 29.
