Abstract

1335300 Jig washers CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED 6 Dec 1971 56437/71 Addition to 1164913 Heading B2H A device for separating a loose material having components of different specific gravities comprises a jig having two discharge troughs 2 and 3 extending perpendicularly to the direction of travel of the material through the jig, vertically adjustable baffles 6 and 7, and a weir 4. The region below a screen 5 may be divided into separate compartments I, II and III and oscillating motions of different intensities applied to the water in these compartments by means of compressed air supplied via throttle valves 12, 13 and 14, and rotary valves 15. In use the material to be classified is fed through a funnel 8 and is subjected to an oscillating movement of the water in a direction perpendicular to the screen 5. The particles separate into layers L, Z and S comprising a light component, a medium component and a heavy component respectively, and are collected and discharged by troughs 2 and 3 and weir 4 respectively.
