Abstract
1334802 Electro-photographic element EASTMAN KODAK CO 27 May 1971 [30 June 1970] 17645/71 Headings G2C C17E and C17D2 An electro-photographic material is prepared by providing a conductive support with a first layer of a first polymer and coating on the first layer a solution of an organic photo-conductor, a second polymer and a sensitizing dye wherein the solvent of the solution is such as to cause swelling of the first layer and the first polymer has a greater affinity for the dye than the second polymer so that at least a portion of the dye is preferentially absorbed by the first layer. In the embodiments the support is polyethylene terephthalate coated with nickel, the first layer is copolymethyl acrylate-vinylidene chlorideitaconic acid and the coating solution is a dichloromethane solution of a triphenylamine, a polycarbonate or polyester and a cyanine dye salt. Many other materials for use as supports, photo-conductors, polymers, solvents and dyes are specified.
