1334251 Combine harvesters MASSEY FERGUSON SERVICES NV 7 Jan 1971 [13 Jan 1970] 1520/70 Heading A1F Apparatus for mounting an accessory, such as straw chopper 2, on a combine harvester comprises a pair of generally horizontal guide rails 13 on the harvester which receives mounting trunnions secured to the accessory on an axis passing through or close to its centre of gravity so that the accessory can be moved on said rails 13 from an in-use position; Fig. 1, to an intermediate position whereat the accessory can be pivoted about said axis to an out-of-use position, Fig. 5, and vice-versa. To move the accessory from the in-use position to the out-of-use position female fastener parts 8 are released from male fastener parts 7 and the accessory is pushed along rails 13, pivoted about its trunnions. In the out-of-use position the female fastener parts are secured .to further male fastener parts 17. These fasteners, of the toggle action type, are self-centering and a pin 12 and flared recess 11 are provided to assist fixing the accessory in the operational position. The straw chopper 2 (Fig. 7) has a shaft 3 belt-driven by the combine engine and a tubular shaft 3A which carries pivoted blades 20 which co-operate with fixed blades 21 which are adjustably mounted through slots 23 in cutter bars 22. Blades of knives 20 and 21 are double edged so that they can be reversed when one edge is worn.
