Abstract
960,371. Reaping machines. MASSEY-FERGUSON G.m.b.H. Jan. 2, 1961 [Feb. 2, 1960], No. 3586/60. Heading A1F. A reaping-machine divider 1 has a detachable nose N and is arranged to be used as a short divider (Fig. 1) with the nose N in place or as a long divider (Fig. 2) with the nose detached and a long-divider assembly 1A hingedly mounted in place of it. The divider 1 comprises a frame 2 which is attached to the cutting table T of a combine-harvester, the frame having a frontal slot 3 (Fig. 6) through which can be inserted a shaft 6 carrying the long-divider assembly. The shaft 6 is pivoted to a lug 5 on the frame 2 and is telescopically adjustable at 7, 8. The assembly includes three plates 9, 10, 11 arranged fan-wise and adjustable by telescopic struts 9A, 10A, 11A. The shaft 6 is supported in the slot 3 by a member 14 which has an adjustable tongue-and-slot connection 15, 16 with the main frame 2, to vary the operating height of the long divider.
