Abstract

133,387. Caterpillar Tractors, Ltd., (Holt Manufacturing Co.). Aug. 13, 1918. Force-feed lubricators. - In variable-speed transmission mechanism for tractors &c. having the gear-wheels removable with a portion of the gear-box, as described in Specification 133,386, [Class 79 (iii), Motor-vehicles, Arrangement &c. of parts of], the lubricating system is also removable with the detachable portion 21 of the gear-box 10. The lubricating system comprises a rotary pump 23 driven by a gear-wheel 27, an inlet pipe 24, and an outlet pipe 25 leading to a number of nozzles 36 which spray oil over the gearing. The pipe 24 projects into a strainer 28 and is detachably supported in the fixed portion of the gear-box by a strap 32. The pump 23 is mounted on a bearing-sleeve 12 carried by the portion 21 of the gear-box.
