1333740 Knitting-machines GOTTLIEB EPPINGER KG 2 Dec 1970 [30 Dec 1969] 57214/70 Heading D1C A drive for a circular machine comprises a pole-changing motor 1 whose output shaft drives a shaft 7 via belt-and-pulley drives 2-2a-4, 3-3a-5 the upper pulleys of which may be selectively coupled electromagnetically to the shaft. The couplings comprise rings 8, 8a carrying coils 15, 15a. The pulleys are coupled by armatures 11, 11a attached by resilient plates 12, 12a. Progressively higher speeds are used during: changes in the operation of the machine; reciprocatory knit heel and toe; leg and foot; welt.
