Abstract

The heel and toe of a stocking are made on a circular knitting machine with >=2 systems and one or two cylinders. During the oscillatin part of the cycle, the first needle before the stitch cams is taken out of action, and after the first half oscillation the last needle is taken out of action before it is knitted. This is during the reduction sequence. For increasing, the first needle is introduced, and at the half stage of the oscillation three needles are introduced.
