Abstract

1333453 Joining metal sheets; floor and ceiling structures D C NAYLOR 24 June 1971 29754/71 Headings E1K and E1W Sheeting, for use particularly as decking to provide reinforcement for a concrete filling so as to produce a rigid floor or ceiling structure, is composed of sheets 1 each provided with a number of upstanding ribs 2 and interlocking flanges 3 for joining the sheets, each rib comprising spaced portions 4 above which the sides of the rib are cranked inwardly to provide abutting or nearly abutting portions 6, a triangular portion 7 completing the rib, and each interlocking flange 3 consisting of one half of a rib extended over the base 11 of the triangular portion to a bent-over extremity 12 the angle of bending corresponding to that of the side 10 of the triangle provided by the half rib. The ribs are preferably provided with reinforcing bulges 13 at spaced intervals along them which also provide additional keying projections for concrete when the sheeting is used as decking for a concrete floor or/and cealing. In this case, ceiling brackets or panels are fitted by screws or pins (Fig. 2, not shown), the former engaging between the portions 4 of the ribs and the latter being driven between the abutting portions 6 of the ribs. The sheeting may also be used as roofing material.
