Abstract

1425679 Buildings of corrugated steel sheet INCO SYSTEMS INC- 6 June 1974 25149/74 Heading E1A A building comprises side walls 21, 22 made from steel sheets having upright corrugations, at least one floor of like corrugated steel sheet(s) 24 and a roof 23; the corrugated steel sheet having substantially rectangular or trapezoidal corrugations having a distance between their troughs and crests of not less than three inches and an included angle between their flanks and their troughs and crests which is greater than 90‹ but less than 100‹; each floor end transverse to the corrugations being attached to the adjacent side wall by a reinforcing strip 28 having one part-formed by corrugated steel sheet rested with and secured at spaced intervals to the side wall and another part having a U-shaped cross-section the free edges of which extend into the corrugations of the one part; the other part being secured to the one part along the flanks and troughs of the corrugations and each floor end transverse to the corrugations being notched and extending into the corrugations of the one part and being secured to the other part, see especially, Fig. 4, (not shown). The reinforcing strip is slotted and each floor end transverse to the corrugations has tabs for engagement with said slots. The floor panel and strip may be covered with a sound deadening board layer or a hardwood floor and a carpet whilst the downwardly opening corrugations may be filled with a foamed insulation material or the undersurface may have a ceiling board secured thereto. For numerous minor details involving walls, footings, insulation, gutters, roof, snap in coloured strips, attachment of parts as by welding, rivetting or bolts &c the Specification should be referred to.
