1332783 Vehicle power plant JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) LTD 30 Nov 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 51757/69 Heading F1Q A power plant for a road vehicle comprises a combustion chamber 10, a means 15 for supplying fuel to the combustion chamber, a means 12 for supplying air to the combustion chamber, a heat exchanger 11 associated with the combustion chamber and having an inlet and an outlet, means 18 for supplying a fluid to the heat exchanger inlet, a pair of fluid operated motors 19, 20 each having an inlet connected to the heat exchanger outlet, a fluid cooling means 21 connected between an outlet of each motor and the fluid supply means, driving means 28, 29 powered by one of the motors to operate the fuel supply means, the air supply means and the fluid supply means, means 30 responsive to the fluid pressure at the inlets to the motors to vary the supplies of air and fuel to the combustion chamber and fluid to the heat exchanger and means 40, 41, 42 associated with the other of the motors to vary the direction of rotation and the power output thereof, the other of the motors providing a means for propelling the road vehicle. As shown working fluid for the plant is provided by water supplied from a tank 17 and supplied to an inlet of the heat exchanger 11 by a pump 18. Specifications 1326738 and 1326739 are referred to.
