Abstract
1331583 Cooling bulk material METALLGESELLSCHAFT AG 21 Jan 1972 [27 Jan 1971] 3105/72 Heading F4B Apparatus for cooling bulk material, e.g. hot sinter, comprises an annular open plenum chamber 4, below a series of moving gaspermeable troughs 2 charged at 1 and discharged at 3, a number of blowers 6 in the cooler part of the apparatus and a series of partitions 5 dividing the chamber 4 and formed with throttling openings 7. The partitions 5 divide the chamber 4 into compartments having a length ratio starting at the hot end of 1 : 2 : 7 and the openings 7 may be controlled by flap valves. Preferably three blowers 6 are fitted and the reduction in the rate at which the air passes through unit area of material towards said hot end reduces the ejection of dust. The system may be applied to a straight cooler (Fig. 4).
