Abstract

1330539 Egg trays DEVELOPMENT TECHNIQUES Ltd 27 July 1971 [29 July 1970] 36730/70 Heading B8P To enable filled paper machÚ egg trays to be transported in stacks without providing a surrounding carton or crate, each tray is designed to engage formations on a superposed tray when one tray is turned 90 degrees with respect to the other tray. Loaded interlocked stacked trays are held together by cords 34, 36 attached to rods 38, 40 and passing through sleeves 46, 48 which protect the lowermost tray. Each tray has egg receiving pockets 14 terminating in flat surfaces 12 and between each pocket is a frusto-conical portion 18 terminating in a flat surface 16. Two opposite side margins of the tray are co-planar with the surfaces 12 and the other two opposed side margins are co-planar with the surfaces 16, notches A are provided in the margins of one pair of opposed sides and the remaining opposed sides have notches B and also have an upwardly extending flange 32. The notches and flanges 32 prevent sliding and twisting of the trays.
