Abstract

1330449 Crates BOWATER PACKAGING Ltd 14 July 1972 33092/72 Heading B8P A crate, which may be of semi-rigid plastics, has a hand hold in one or both end walls, the hole accommodating a spout on a plastics bag- The hand hole has a first portion 13 through which a cap 11 on the spout and a flange 9 can pass; a recond portion 15 corresponding to the outer dimensions of a neck 3 on the spout; and a waisted portion 17 between portions 13 and 15. When the spout is located in the portion 15 it is securely held by the flange 9 and by a larger flange 7 on the inside of the crate and to which the bag may be heat sealed. To pass the waisted portion 17 the spout is slightly deformed. The crate may be strengthened by ribs on the base and walls and may be internally partitioned.
