Abstract

1329362 Valves PIPE LINE TECHNOLOGISTS Inc J R BUTLER TRUSTEE and E E HULSEY 28 Sept 1971 45133/71 Heading F2V A rotary control valve comprises a hollow casing 10 closed at both ends, a cylindrical hollow valve member 14 rotatably mounted in the casing and having a tube 42 inclined to the axis of rotation which tube co-operates in the valve full open position with a pair of inclined ports 41 and in which a pair of slots 44 in the valve member restrict the flow of fluid as the valve member is turned to its fully closed position. The slots converge circumferentially and also slope inwardly 45 at substantially the same angle as the ports. The valve housing and member may alternatively be spherical in shape.
