921,578. Valves. C. BEGARD. April 6, 1961 [April 28, 1960], No. 12440/61. Class 135. A mixing valve for two fluids, such as hot and cold water, comprises inlets 4, 4<SP>1</SP> for both fluids and a common outlet 5, a valve body 1 having a cylindrical mixing chamber into which two ports 3, 3<SP>1</SP> communicate with both inlets respectively, a first rotary valve member 8 including a circumferential wall the axial length of which varies progressively around the circumference of the valve member, the first valve member being rotatable to vary the degree to which its circumferential wall covers the two ports to vary the fluid flow therethrough, and a second valve member 31 actuated by a rotary control member 16 which is coaxial with the first valve member and, by its angular orientation in the valve body, regulates the combined flow of both fluids from the common outlet. The first valve member 8 is rotated by a lever 11 via a shaft 9 and plate 15. The control member 16 is rotatably mounted in a cover 22 and is provided with a cam 27 which engages a member 28 connected to the valve 31, the latter engaging with a seating in the outlet 5.
