Abstract

1326938 Ridge tiles M GERHAHER 30 Sept 1970 [30 Sept 1969 6 Nov 1969] 46607/70 Heading E1B A ridge tile has a portion 11 of its small end 12 flattened so as to define a venting gap 13 between overlapping tiles. Ribs 9, 10 and 14 are provided to locate and secure the tiles in position, mortar being placed between the ribs at the edges where they engage, and the rib 14 across the flat portion 11 preventing the ingress of water. An arcuate screen may be secured across the gap 13 to prevent snow entering. In modifications the flattened portion is replaced by two concave inclined portions which define two gaps or two such inclined portions gradually tapering from the main body portion of the tile to a flattened portion as at 11.
