Abstract

1452198 Flashing ENGINEERING ADVISORY & DEVELOPMENT Ltd 11 April 1975 [2 July 1974] 29193/74 Heading E1W A flashing strip is shaped to taper from one longitudinal edge towards the other. In the embodiment shown, a lead strip has a triangularsectioned edge 22, held in a channel 12 in a wall by a trianigular-sectioned wedge 26 and mortar 14. The wedge could be omitted (Fig. 3, not shown) or replaced by a circular-sectioned strip. The rear edge of the strip could alternatively comprise a perpendicular flange (20), (Fig. 2, not shown). The projecting portion of the strip may be reinforced by ribs (28), (Figs. 5, 6, not shown) extending perpendicularly from the wall. The strip may be varnished or lacquered or provided with a coating of a bituminous compound.
