A skirting 24 for a wall is a channel having a guide groove 50 for a tool 42 for screeding a bevelled edge on the plaster 14 and a flange 30 on one of the channel flanges 28. A projecting rib may be provided in place of the groove 50. Members 20 inside the skirting 24 secure it to a wall stud 12.
