Abstract
1326918 Dry shavers PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 1 Dec 1970 [5 Dec 1969] 57089/70 Heading B4B A dry shaver comprises an upper cutter 3 and a set of lower cutters 6 with cutting edges 11, each disposed in a straight guide 13 of a rotary cutter carrier 7, the guides 13 and lower cutters 6 being so arranged that the longitudinal direction 17 of the corresponding guide 13 defines an angle of between 10 degrees and 65 degrees with the section in a plane perpendicular to the cutting edge of the path swept by the cutting edge 11, Fig. 1, or with the tangent 18 to the path swept out by the cutting edge 11 along the upper cutter 3, Fig. 9. Springs 16 may press the lower cutters 6 lightly against the upper cutter 3, e.g. under a force of 10 gm wt., Fig. 1, or the lower cutters 6 may engage the upper cutter 3 centrifugally, Fig. 9. The lower cutters 6 may be of hook-form, Figs. 1 and 9, or a cutting edge 11 may be formed by transversely grooving one end of a flat cutter plate (33), Fig. 8 (not shown). Further, a somewhat dished circular upper cutter 3 may co-operate with two concentric circular groups of lower cutters 6, Figs. 4-7 (not shown).
