Abstract

1326253 Shock absorbing sun visor HAPPICH GmbH Gebr 10 Sept 1970 [12 Sept 1969] 43358/70 Heading B7J A shock absorbing sun visor for vehicles comprising a casing formed by padding 3, in which is disposed a reinforcing insert in the form of a one piece plastics moulding 2 having projections and recesses 6, 7, the arrangement being such that the moulding, which is elastically deformable in normal use, such as adjustment, is permanently deformed on impact, the permanent deformation partially dissipating the force of the impact. Figs. 3-5 (not shown) all show alternative forms of the moulding, but all include an arrangement of projections and recesses, some also including apertures (8). As in Fig. 1, each moulding 2 is integrally formed with either one or two mounting sockets 4, for receiving a pivot pin 5 of a mounting secured to the vehicle.
