Abstract

1,040,800. Vehicle sun visors. AUSTIN MOTOR CO. Ltd. Aug. 3, 1965 [Oct. 9, 1964], No. 41202/64. Heading B7J. [Also in Division E2] A visor has a stub 6 which may engage mounting clips (not shown) and a ball 2 with surfaces 2A, 2B of different diameters each surface being adapted to engage a partspherical socket 5 with a diametral slot across its mouth. In the inoperative position of the visor the ball portion 2A which is the same diameter as the socket is engaged, but in the operative position the oversize portion 2B frictionally engages the socket to prevent the visor from pivoting down under its own weight. The ball has a boss 3A that locates in a channel 7 in the back of the socket so that the visor is supported whilst, swinging.
