Abstract

1481372 Sun visors Gebr HAPPICH GmbH 21 May 1975 [10 Sept 1974] 21784/75 Heading B7J A sun visor includes a reinforcing wire frame 2 held in position by moulded, plastics members 1 having appropriately shaped channels 3 for receiving the wire, the channels receiving the wire with a snap-action or receiving the wire in a loose fit with adjacent resilient or bendable lugs 5 engaging the wire with a snap action. In one arrangement, Fig. 5, the member 1 is cutaway at 21 and provided with channels 3 to hold an S-shaped portion of a wire frame. As shown in Fig. 16, the member 1 has a generally rectangular shape with a central slot 13 to receive one end of a U-shaped portion of the wire frame 2. The member has channels 3 in opposite faces to receive the wire frame when it is rotated to lie in the plane of said member. A lug 5 retains the frame in position. The member 1 has an aperture 6 for pivotally mounting the sun visor on a vehicle. The member 1 may have a boss about which the frame is rotated to assist in locating the wire frame in the channels 3, Figs. 2-4 (not shown).
