Abstract

854,938. Sun visors for vehicles. PERFECTA MOTOR EQUIPMENTS Ltd. April 13, 1959 [April 15, 1958], No. 11892/58. Class 103(2). An interior sun visor for a vehicle comprises a rigid top edge formed of bent metal plate 3, Figs. 1 and 2, to frictionally receive a mounting arm 1, a U-shaped wire frame 5, the ends of which are secured between the flanges 4 of the plate 3, two pads 6 of foam plastic mounted one on each side of the frame and a plastic covering 7, the pads 6 extending beyond the ends and the bottom of the frame whereby the edges of the visor can yield when struck. In a modification a wire frame is connected to a hardboard secured between the flanges 4. Alternatively the wire frame may be omitted and the hardboard extends to a little over a half of the depth of the visor. in a still further modification the upper edge of the visor may be formed in part by the hardboard and include a short metal part for securing to the mounting arm. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 817,159.
