1325598 Tool holding assembly CHARLES WILLEN & CIE 26 Aug 1970 [29 Aug 1969] 5532/73 Divided out of 1325596 Heading B3T A tool holding assembly comprises a body portion 1 with a bore 9 in which is located a rotatable hollow cylindrical flanged sleeve 8 formed in two coaxial parts threaded together and supported in two bearings 10, 11 in the bore 9, the races for the bearings 9, 10, on the body portion being formed by frusto-conical surfaces to facilitate adjustment to prevent axial play between the sleeve and bore. A pin 16 is secured in the flange 12 of the sleeve and extends parallel to the axis of the bore 9 and into an oblong hole 17 in the body portion to permit limited angular displacement of the sleeve in the bore. The displacement permits movement of a cutting tool carried in the sleeve into and out of operative engagement with a workpiece. An adjustable stop 19 extends into the hole 17 to adjust the extent of displacement. A spring 21 further engages the pin 16 to bias the sleeve with a tool into an inoperative position.
