Abstract
1325502 Animal feeding appliances KENELLEN (NZ) Ltd 23 March 1971 7602/71 Heading AIM A teat comprises a hollow resilient body with a nipple 9 at its closed end having cross slits 10 which open when external suction is applied. A calf feeding appliance comprises in one embodiment (Figure 9) a funnel 13 and tubes 19 each terminating in connectors 17 having a flange which fits into a teat shoulder 5. In a further embodiment Fig. 15, the teats are attached to supply pipes 46, which pivot about a vertical post 40, the pipes 46 being supported by a horizontal portion of angleiron arms 43, the vertical portion having slots 45 supporting the teats. Liquid is supplied from a tank 50 via a tap 53 and pipes 54. In a further embodiment a mounted supply line (20), Fig. 14 (not shown), is attached to a tank (23). A breather tube (35) may be fitted to avoid air blockage. The connectors 17 may be push fitted to supply pipes (as in Fig. 9). In a modification, a connector (57), Figs. 18-20 (not shown), is integral with a collar (56) which clamps onto the supply pipe. When in position, a communicating hole is bored in the supply pipe. In a further modification, gaps between supply pipe sections (22) Fig. 13 are enclosed by sleeves (27) each comprising a connector (29) which projects into the gap.
