1324986 Bakers' ovens G & R GILBERT Ltd 3 Aug 1970 [8 Aug 1969] 39870/69 Heading A2A A baking oven, e.g. of the kind in which a reel (not shown) rotatable about a horizontal axis carries a plurality of pendant baking trays, is heated by radiation from oil-fired combustion chambers or furnaces 6, 7 the burners 17, 18 of which are directed in opposite directions to promote uniform heating within the oven. The furnaces, of refractory-lined, metal construction, are triangular in cross-section to be accommodated at the junctions between the base and the front and rear walls of the oven, and have ducts 21, 22 leading the combustion products from their ends remote from the burners to a radiator 19 at the rear of the oven. The duct 21 may be external to the oven or wholly or partly within the oven side wall to heat that side of the oven, and both ducts 21, 22 may have dampers to balance the flow from the two burners. The radiator 19, which has internal baffles 23, leads to a flue 24 with a damper 25.
