Abstract

1324780 Ventilating vehicles K L AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS Ltd 14 Dec 1971 [15 Sept 1970] 44047/70 Heading F4V A heating and ventilating system for motor vehicles comprises a heat exchange unit 4 which contains a heater matrix 8 and a blower (not shown) driven by a motor 7. Hot water from the engine cooling system is fed to the matrix 8 by pipe 18 and removed by pipe 19, the flow of water being controlled by a valve 20. An air diverter device 6 connected to the heat exchange unit 4 contains a flap 28, operated by two solenoids (30, 31), which controls the passage of air either from the vehicle interior through grill 27 and inlet 26 or from outside the vehicle through grill 25, duct 24 and aperture 22 into the heater matrix 8. The air passing through the unit 4 is delivered to the vehicle interior via outlets 13, through a pipe (14) into an air duct (15) and out through grilles (16).
