Abstract

1287120 Heating and ventilating motor vehicles BRITISH LEYLAND (AUSTINMORRIS) Ltd 19 April 1971 [21 Nov 1969] 57002/69 Heading F4V A motor vehicle heating and ventilating system comprises pivoted flaps 9, 10 within a housing 1 controlled by a single manually operable pivoted lever through two pivoted cam elements and Bowden transmissions, wherein the lever has predetermined settings for "hot" and "cold" arranged in the same sequence both for air passing through a windscreen outlet 6 and for air flow through a lower outlet 5. A valve for engine coolant flow through a heat exchanger 2 may also be controlled by the lever. An outlet 7 leads to facia outlets. The control mechanism may be made of sheet metal or plastics. A fan 1 may be prevented from operating when the lever is in its OFF position.
