1322703 Skylights HOTACO AS 2 July 1970 [10 July 1969 10 Nov 1969] 34747/69 and 54915/69 Heading E1R [Also in Divisions F4 and H5] The inner face of a skylight dome 1 of a transparent organic polymer, e.g. of acrylic plastics, has a uniformly metallized layer 2 of gold in a coating weight of 0.4 to 0.6 gram per square metre thus forming a layer of thickness such as to reflect from 20% to 67% of visible light in incident daylight. A second dome 9 spaced from the dome 1 may be provided and alternatively the gold layer may be arranged on the convex surface of the inner dome. The dome is held by fixing means 5 one edge of which is bent around a flange 7 of the dome, the other edge being bent in V- shape 8 to engage beneath the bead 4. The metallized layer 2 may be used for heating, in which case an electrically conductive laquer incorporating metallic silver in powder form is applied at opposite parts 10, 11 of the flange 7 for making electrical contact with the layer 2, electrodes making contact with laquer layer. For interior illumination purposes the reflecting power of layer 2 may be utilized by placing a source of light 12 near the fore point of the layer.
