Abstract

1322684 Electrostatic precipitators ENVIROTECH CORP 31 Jan 1972 [4 Feb 1971] 4399/72 Heading B2J A horizontal flow dry-type electrostatic pre cipitator is provided with one or more baffles 26 arranged so that, in the region where precipitation takes place, the rate of gas flow near the top of the chamber 10 is increased relative to the rate of flow near the bottom of the chamber. Successive baffles provide an increase of rate of top-flow relative to bottom-flow that is the greater the farther downstream the baffle is located. The baffles may be constituted by the upwardly extending units 26 as shown, by orifice plates, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown), or by sets of pivotally mounted inclined baffles, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown).
