Abstract

1322410 Central heating systems NORTH WESTERN GAS BOARD 27 Jan 1972 [16 Feb 1971] 4720/71 Heading F4U [Also in Division F2] In a central heating system, connection points for further radiators are provided by junction pieces having two valves 1, 2 with inlet ports 4, 5 and outlet ports 6, 7. The ports 4-7 may have union nuts for compression joints on ports 6 and 7 may take snap-in couplings on nylon pipes. On installation, the valves 1 and 2 are closed and ports 5 and 6 may be fitted with blank caps. When a further radiator is to be added, flow (17) and return (18) pipes are connected at 6 and 5, respectively. After removing caps 11, valves 1 and 2 may be opened by turning members 8. In another form, the valve members 8 are replaced by cook plugs (19), which may be nylon.
