1322383 Synthetic diamonds UKRAINSKY NAVCHNOISSELEDOVATELSKY KONSTRUKTORSKO - TEKHNOLOGICHESKY INSTITUT SINTETICHESKIKH SVERKHTVERDYKH MATERIALOV I INSTRUMENTA GOSPLANA UKRAINSKOI SSR 11 Jan 1971 1282/71 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions B3 and C7] Erosion failures in the surfaces of dies used for the production of superhard materials such as artificial diamonds or cubic boron nitride are repaired by filling the site of said erosion failure with at least one powdered refractory metal chosen from Ni, Fe, Co, Mn, Mo, Ti, Ta, W, Cr, Nb and Re, charging a superhard precursor material into said die and hot pressing to produce said superhard material and at the same time weld the refractory metal to the die.
