1322316 Plate heat exchangers APV CO Ltd 28 Feb 1972 [15 March 1971] 6844/71 Heading F4S In a heat exchanger comprising a pack of plates 1 separated by marginal gaskets 2 and wherein each plate has a marginal flange 5, inclined to the plane of the plate, said flanges are provided with apertures 7 and/or recesses 8 adapted to provide a path through the flanges for the insertion between adjacent plates in the region of the gaskets of a separating tool (e.g. when opening up the plate pack for cleaning purposes). Each flange 5 preferably has a series of the apertures 7 alternating with recesses 8, and as shown, a recess in one plate is aligned with an aperture in an adjacent plate to allow access to said aperture.
